Roman Catholic Church of St. John the Baptist in Viski — the last place of service of Fr. Litaunieks and his last resting place.
Roman Catholic Church of St. Ludwig in Kraslava: here Fr. Litaunieks held his most important sermon fearless of the threat of the occupying power, to encourage the people to remain faithful to Christ and, if necessary, to die for their faith, in July 1940 during St. Donat’s Feast. This sermon is considered to be the ‘death sentence’ for the young priest.
After being consecrated as a priest (1933), V. Litaunieks also briefly served in Rezekne as a vicar.
